Dan was a very special person, as you well know. I always admired his optimism, his laugh, his intelligence, and his care for and interest in others. One especially memorable weekend I had with him was when we were all still bachelors and took a weekend ski trip on the bus to Boyne Mountain. The weather was bitterly cold and windy, but Dan and I stayed out on the mountain and skied the whole day while everyone else cancelled out. We figured we had spent so much time and money to get there that a little cold weather should not cut short the "fun". There were so many other memorable moments with both of you...the cottage weekends, the canoe trips, the houseboat trip. You and Dan will forever remain in our thoughts and prayers.
