Dec. 3rd, 2010 Encased in Dan’s Urn at the Santa Rosa Memorial Park. 1400 Franklin Ave. Santa Rosa Ca 95405 Sara’s Letter to Dan, My Dan, Words cannot express my gratitude for your 42 years of love, kindness and support. Your steady heart and deep sense of duty toward your family allowed us to create a beautiful life together. Your last words as you saw all 10 of us together in your den, were “tremendous success”. You knew your legacy was there in the room with you and was one that you were immensely proud of. And you were the foundation for that success. You worked hard to financially and emotionally support us…and you did so, very well. You were a dedicated husband, a devoted father to Sean and Shannon, a loving father-in-law to Scott and Kim, a proud and loving “Opa” to Mason, Miah, Elle, Isaiah and Bella. I am so very thankful and positively happy that I was and am an integral part of your very fine life. The circle will not be broken. We will always be a part of one another and your life continues on in the hearts of your family and friends. Your Sara ------------- On a lighter note, I loved Dan because he would camp with me, bike with me, and hike with me. In earlier years he would play tennis and ski with me. He helped me raise the kids and we always, in consultation with each other, made our own decisions on anything we thought was important to us. We enjoyed each other’s families. And he even played bridge with me, if I golfed with him! That’s probably why it worked! In the hospital a nurse asked Dan how to make a marriage work for 42 years. Dan said, “dedication”. I thank him for his dedication. The italicized not part of the letter to Dan, but told to our gathering.
